The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Prof. Isaac U. Asuzu, has cautioned the 2016/2017 Pre-Degree students against indiscipline and indulging in vices such as exam malpractices, rape, cultism, truancy and indecent dressing, saying the institution has zero tolerance these.
The Vice-Chancellor, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. R. A. Omolehin, gave this warning during the fourth orientation of the Pre-Degree students of the university held recently at the Ikechukwu Iheanacho ICT Centre.
In his opening remark, the Vice-Chancellor stated categorically and without ambiguity that the Pre-Degree programme of the university is not an automatic admission into the institution. According to him, the purpose of the Pre-Degree programme of Federal University Oye-Ekiti is to equip prospective students for degree programme proper; give them good head-start and promote superior studentship in the university, eventually. He further stated that FUOYE has its standards which must be met by the prospective students before being considered for admission.
The Vice-Chancellor therefore urged them to take their studies very serious and avoid anything capable of truncating their academic pursuit.
Present at the occasion were the Registrar, Mr. D. A. Adeyemo, the University Librarian, Dr. Gboyega Adio and the Dean Student Affairs and Chairman, Academic Board of Pre-Degree, Dr. O. O. Fasoranti.
