The Association of Demography and Social Statistics Students (ADSS), FUOYE chapter, held her second departmental election at the University main auditorium on Friday 10th July, 2015. The students came out in large numbers to cast their votes for the candidates of their choice.
Ten positions were contested for while the Electoral Committee Chairman, Adisa Teslim, announced the results as followed: Mustapha Sam Oluwaseyi won the position of president while, Ayilara Adedolapo became vice president. Other positions are Bamiro. I. Emmanuel, secretary, Olanrewaju Laura O., financial secretary, Ofinni Doyin C., treasurer, Durodola Isaiah, Social Director, Sulaimon Oyeleke, sports director, Adedoyin Adelola B, Librarian, and Akinyemi David O., public relations officer.
President-elect, Mustapha S. Oluwaseyi, on behalf of the exco appreciated the effort of the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. O. O. Fasoranti and HOD, Dr. Gbenga Adeyemi, for their fatherly role and also thanked the entire members of staff of the department. He promised during his administration to portray a good image of the department and that of the noble institution.
The HOD, Dr. Adeyemi, gave kudos to the students for their decorum and mature conduct during the election process. He advised the newly-elected executives to make diligence and transparency their watchword and not see their new offices as an avenue of making money off their fellow students. Most importantly, he advised them not to allow this responsibility to affect their studies in anyway.
