On Monday, the 27th of July, 2015, Management of Federal University Oye-Ekiti conducted promotional exam for its pioneer staff of Administrative Officer cadre numbering ninety seven. Addressing the candidates before the commencement of the exam, the Registrar Mr. D. A. Adeyemo, dispelled some disquieting unease in some quarters that there was not going to be a level playground for all candidates, promising that management would be fair to all.
Speaking further, he told the candidates that the exam would provide equal opportunities to all the participating staff through a recommendation that would be made to the Appointments and Promotions Committee for consideration. He went on to inform the candidates that the promotion exam would be considered together with the departmental staff appraisal exercise to determine staff eligibility for promotion.
As light enters a tunnel and gives illumination, so did his brief address correct earlier impression that the exam was meant to witch-hunt some people. The slight trepidation was doused when it was disclosed that the examination was going to be split into two parts, objective and essay. The computer based examination was structured in such a way that each participant would see their scores upon submission at the end of the one hour count-down.
And true to his promise no candidate has had any justification to contest results of the examination. A big kudos to Management for a promise kept.
