Nigerian Universities Engineering Students Association (NUESA), FUOYE Chapter, January 27, 2016, held its first Annual Engineering Conference. The event which brought student representatives from Ekiti State University, Federal University of Technology Akure and University of Lagos took place in the Faculty of Engineering complex at the Ikole campus.
The conference brought members of NUESA together to discuss issues bordering on modern engineering practice and the application of knowledge gained to tackle peculiar socio-cultural challenges.
Three students of Federal University Oye-Ekiti exhibited some projects which they individually executed. Oladejo David exhibited a 9.15 voltage power bank which he built. Olabanjo Ebenezer showcased a website named OyeSource.com which he created as a site where FUOYE students can access educative materials, while Okunade Bolaji demonstrated a Business Property website, which he created for his individual use.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. R. A. Omolehin, who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Isaac U. Asuzu, commended the students and charged them to excel in their academic pursuits to justify the laudable goals of the pioneer and the incumbent vice-chancellors who established and has sustained the Engineering Faculty in spite of the heavy kick-off and running challenges.
The event featured an inter-Department football match as well as the presentation of certificates and awards to deserving secondary schools and individuals respectively.
The Dean of Engineering, Prof. Babatope Alabadan, was at the occasion as well as some other staff of Faculty of Engineering.
