The Nigeria security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has expressed its willingness to partner with the Federal University Oye Ekiti, in the areas of Crime Control and Protection of infrastructural. The Corp made its position known when it paid courtesy call on the Vice-chancellor of the University, Professor Kayode Soremekun in office. 

Led by the Ekiti State Commandant, Don Ekemefuna. The officers of the Corp said they were in the University to establish mutually beneficial relationships as agencies of the Federal Government. Commandant Ekemefuna revealed the visit, also was part of his bit to familiarise with Sister Federal organization as he was barely one month in the state as a commandant. 

According to the NSDC boss, the corp, among other things could help in training the security staff of the institution in handling arms and other security gadgets. He said his command was willing to partner with FUOYE in the aforementioned ways as well as play other relevant roles as stipulated within the operational guidelines of the corp. that would be beneficial to the University, Ekiti State and Nigeria at large.

 Responding, the Vice chancellor, Professor Kayode Soremekun said he would stop at nothing to ensure the safety of lives and properties under his care as such he would welcome any initiative from the corp. that would ensure sustainable peace on campus. He added that as a Federal Government agency he would always savour a symbiotic relationship with NSDC especially in the area of security staff training and development.

The Vice Chancellor  disclosed to the admiration of his visitors that the doors of his admistration were widely open to any lawful security initiative and asked commander  Ekemefuna  and officers to be free to liaise with the relevant authorities( in the security unit) when there are matters arising. He expressed happiness that he inherited a cordial working relationship between the corp. and FUOYE and prayed such relationship should continue to grow.
