The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Soremekun, has approved the appointment of Mr. M. A. Owoeye as the Coordinator of the University Farm. The appointment signed by the Registrar, Daniel Adeyemo, took effect from 9th August, 2016.
The Coordinator, according to the appointment letter, shall be responsible, inter alia, to the Vice-Chancellor through the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for the following:
-Day to day running of the University Far
-Maintaining and monitoring quality of yield
ii -Marketing farm produce
-Ensuring that farm activities comply with government regulations, protecting the environment and maintaining biodiversity
-Monitoring animal health and maintaining a knowledge of pests and diseases, understanding of how they spread and how to treat them
-Planning finances and production to maintain farm progress against budget parameters and keeping financial records up to date
-Planning activities for trainee staff, mentoring and monitoring them
Mr. Owoeye has since assumed responsibilities with a strong resolve to breathe new life into the University Farm. BY this appointment, the erstwhile Farm Officer takes over from the pioneer Coordinator of the Farm Unit, Dr. Ayodele Fajimi.
